This integral is solved by using the power rule. Move the the constant 7 to the outstide of the integral. Then solve 7 ∫ x^–2dx using the power rule with n = -2. Since n + 1 = –1, we get

∫ 7x^–2 dx = 7	1 –1	x^–1 + C
= –7x^–1 + C
